Here you will find some of the most common questions and concerns about working together. I understand that seeking help can be an overwhelming and often confusing process. My goal is to provide you with clear and concise answers to help you make an informed decision about your mental health. Unfortunately I do not provide an emergency service. However, I am committed to getting you the support you need.

I've never done therapy, what's the first session like?

During the first session we will go through our contract together, so we both can be on the same page as to what you can expect of our work together, how would you like to work and other basic admin bits. Once you are settled, usually we explore what brings you to therapy, what worries you and what you would like to get out of our sessions. You are expected to have paid before the session by bank transfer or by cash at the end of the session.

Will you give me solutions to my problems?

Unfortunately I won’t do that – And that’s not because I don’t want to help you, but because I believe the best way to help you is not to tell you what to do, but to empower you to find out answers by yourself. I will hold hope that together, you can find out ways to self heal. I believe you can work out what your best solutions are, and I’ll be right by your side supporting you.

Can you diagnose me?

Unfortunately not. As a psychotherapeutic counsellor my job isn’t to diagnose you. For that, you need to visit your GP or a Psychiatrist. 

How many sessions do I need to start feeling better?

It really depends on each person as we are all different. Usually people start feeling worse before they start feeling better, but overall most people start seeing the impact after a couple of months.

How does it work with the sessions? do I have to do them weekly?

Weekly sessions offer the best chance to experience the benefits of therapy, and they offer better value for your money. Fortnightly sessions can work as long as we agree on a clear goal to work towards.

How much does it cost?

£60 per session.
Each session starts on the hour and lasts 50 minutes.
Sessions are payable before the appointment.
