Counselling is not an emergency service, which means I am not always available to help you find what you need. 

In the hopes you may find the support you need,  I’ve put together a list of trusted mental health resources that could be of use. Please note that I am not affiliated with the below services, and offer these links with good intention: 

The Sussex Mental Healthline

Call 0800 0309 500, 24 hours a day.

The Sussex Mental Healthline is a telephone service offering support and information to anyone experiencing mental health problems, including stress, anxiety and depression. The service is also available to carers and healthcare professionals. You do not need an appointment

Brighton, Hove and District Samaritans 

If something’s bothering you or you feel you can’t cope, you can call in on any day between 10am and 10pm

NHS 111

Call the NHS 111 service if you urgently need help or advice but it is not a life-threatening situation. 

SANE

SANE is a UK mental health charity who run a national, out-of-hours mental health helpline offering specialist emotional support and information to anyone affected by mental illness, including family, friends and carers.

Bereavement Support

Cruse Bereavement Support website – lots of practical tips and emotional support. Provider of 6 sessions of free bereavement counselling

Child Bereavement UK – support for bereavement of a child

Disordered Eating Support

BEAT – lots of information for those experiencing disordered eating, and for those who love someone who lives with an eating disorder

LGBTQ+ Support

MindOut MindOut is a mental health service run by and for lesbian, gay bisexual, trans and queer (LGBTQ) people, with lots of advice and guidance.

Switchboard B&H is a Brighton-based charity with an LGBTQ helpline for people living in Sussex. Helpline: 01273 204050 (7.00pm to 9.30pm on Wed and Thu)

Mindline Trans+ is a national evening helpline offering emotional and mental health support for anyone who identifies as transgender, non-binary or genderfluid. Phone: 0300 330 5468 (8pm to midnight).

Addiction Support

Change Grow Live – support for those living with addiction 

Emerging Futures – support for women living with addictio

BAME Support

Rethink Black Asian and Ethnic Minorities is a national organisation giving information for people in ethnic minority groups who experience mental health issues, including options for support and treatment. 

Anxiety Support

No Panic offers advice, helpline, support, recovery programs and help for people living with phobias, OCD and any other anxiety-based disorders.
